Ozark Mountain Daredevils
When my older brother brought home their self-titled album in 1973, never thought it would have such a lasting impression’. Now ya might remember their pop radio hot “Jackie Blue” from the mid-seventies (hell, they had to make money) but these boys can sing, blow and play. Their first alum is still my favorite and below are 3 fine selections that have inspired me many ways from the beginning.
Now I ain’t the most religious sort, more spirtual. But “Beauty in the River” has always touched me and changed my dispositioning on every listenin’.
“Standing On a Rock” inspired me (and not in the way ya might think!) ta do some successful things years ago that still lives today.
And “Chicken Train”… well.. ’nuff said, ‘cept it’s the ditty that made become the harmonica player I am.
Put yer ear on the Ozark Mountain Daredevils… And Crank’er Up, Virgil!
