Jimmy Joe’s Easy Apple Moonshine is a wing-ding of a drink that’ll bring class to any holiday party! And with the Super Bowl and new NASCAR season right around the corner, git to makin’ it now! ‘Cuz the longer it ages, the tastier it gets!
First off, this ain’t real moonshine. Real ‘shine is illegal and this ain’t distilled neither. It’s more like Moonshine with a ‘K’, But a real good ‘K’!
Also, be careful! This concoction goes down as smooth as a pig’s ear. But it’ll git’cha! Made with 190 Proof Grain Alcohol, it’ll sneak up on ya faster than yer mother-in-law’s insults! And before ya know it, yer hollerin’ at the moon!
WHAT YA NEED:
A big ol’ boilin’ pot
Clean Mason jars or a couple gallon wine jugs
- 1 Gal. of apple juice
- 1 Gal of apple cider
- 1 1/2 cups of white sugar
- 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 5-8 cinnamon sticks
- 3 tsps of Pure Vanilla
- 750 ml of 190 Proof Grain Alcohol or Everclear
- Optional: All Spice & Nutmeg
- Optional: A healthy dash ofTabasco Sauce
Pour yer apple juice & cider into yer boiling pot. Add yer white & brown sugars and cinnamon sticks (ya can also toss in a little All Spice and Nutmeg but ya ain’t got to).
Bring’er all to a boil & stir to dissolve yer sugars. Turn down the heat, put a lid on and simmer fer about 30 minutes (DON’T ADD the grain alcohol yet!)
Once she’s done simmerin’, turn off the heat, stir in yer vanilla then let this sucker cool.
When cooled, take out the cinnamon sticks and slowly stir in yer grain alcohol.
Okay, yer done cookin’! Commence to the drinkin’. BUT the longer this baby sits, the better it done tastes! So, ladle yer ‘Shine into clean Mason jars or pour into the wine jugs. Put the lids on tight and store in a dry cool place, like one of them refrigerators, fer of weeks.
Now some people like to put a cinnamon stick in each jar before slappin’ the lid on but that’s up to yer personal taste. I forgot it. Too frou-frou.
Also, if ya want to give’er a little bite so it don’t go down so sneaky smooth, shake a couple few drops of Tabasco in each jar.
REMEMBER: the longer it sits, the better it tastes! (and I tell you what, it tastes great right from the get-go!)
Enjoy! But be careful! It’ll git’cha!
