Spitting and coughing, Winifred’s adam’s apple rose rose sharply to the back of her throat as it came in her mouth. Yet as quickly as it had entered, Winnie expelled the over-sized insect in a fashionable panic. Maybe she could have gulped it down whole if it were bathed in a delicate Swiss chocolate, but the thought of swallowing a live Empusa grasshopper made her vomit. And she did.
